True Bias Odgen Cami

Guys, this summer has been hella busy, with little-to-no time to spare. However, I somehow managed to squeeze in a little baby time for the pattern that TOOK OVER THE ENTIRE INTERNET. Oh yeah, baby time is what I call time with my two baby lock sewing machines (jk. definitely just made that up now).

You know it: bitch made an Odgen Cami.

Now, if you are in the sewing community and you haven’t heard of this pattern, I feel like you may need to check your instagram just a bit more. I am fairly certain every human woman, alien woman, and female dog has sewn this pattern and now I AM ONE OF THOSE HUMAN ALIEN DOG WOMEN. PS. Let’s just focus on the gorgina shirt and take a hot skip away from those god damn roots. Oh man, now I have brought your attention to it. It’s all you can see now, right? Dammat!

I am not going to lie to you beautiful people over the internet, it’s like 15 minutes to my bed-time and all I want to do is rest my sweet tired head on my dream inducing pillows. So mama’s going to keep this real short and sweet.

I started cutting this pattern out in a bit of a bad sew-jo moment for me, and it definitely was not made any better by the fact that I cut out pieces that seemed to be 2 sizes too big for me. After some fit-on-the-body style games I played with myself, I ended up taking in the sides to a level that I found suitable and went from there. Everything else is super duper easy to do with great instructions from Kelli, and I love the way the facings give you a perfect round v-shaped neckline that is so very in right now. PS. I am wearing it with my Named Saunio cardigan in the previous photo. Don’t they go so well together?!

The fabric you ask? Oh, well it’s from this wonderful online store called Blackbird Fabrics and I heard the shipping girl who works there is just a total babe. It is the Wildflower Viscose Poplin, which was also all the rage this summer. Should I just call this shirt ‘everything that was popular in 2017?’. The answer is a resounding: yes!
Rumour has it that there may be some new viscose poplin prints in stock on Friday, but you didn’t hear it from me. PS. That shipping girl is me. We all got that, right? I’M THE TOTAL BABE.

Also, just a hot cameo from my little ogre baby, who was rather agro that this walk was taking way too long. Anyways, what can I say? Join the club, buy this pattern, measure your actual size, and become one of us. one of us. one of us.
I really can’t get enough of the swish-swish-bish comfort and lovely neckline shape of this cami, and I feel confident that I will be wearing it for years to come.
ALSO HAAAIII – do you like podcasts? You know I do! I have a new one for you to listen to with your earballs. It is called the Love To Sew Podcast and it is hosted by two lovely ladies in Vancouver. I definitely do not know them at all. One of the hosts is definitely not my boss at all. Their most recent episode features Kelli from True Bias (yes! of the Odgen cami fame!), and she dishes all about her time at F.I.T, Lander Pants, and trying to fit a million printed patterns into a kids playroom. It’s hilarious and you should definitely subscribe right away!

That’s it for now!
