Natasha Presents: CHRISTMAS IS CANCELLED!
So, um, yeah.
Started off REAL BIG with that title, but let me explain:
Guyssss, how is it already December? When did that even happen?! I am very behind on everything in life, which includes my annual Christmas gift making extravaganza. The past two years have been epic: I made all of the things and slayed the Christmas gift game. Now, however, I don’t think 2016 is going to be that year for me. But also CAN WE JUST THINK ABOUT HOW RIDICULOUS 2016 WAS?! Cancelling Christmas is the least of our collective worries.
Anyways, if I usually exchanged gifts with you in the past: whoops sorry plssssss don’t hate me ok love you bye. And if you usually exchanged gifts with me and you are also in the same time-crunch poor-house boat that I am: let’s high five (because that is free, right? high fives are free! GUYS HIGH FIVES ARE F-R-E-E!!!)
If you are a po’ po’ baby, but still have the time/energy/life goals to exchange gifts with people, here are some cute and easy things you can do to keep Christmas alive.
Be a #truecanadian with one of these easy DIY beanies. These tutorials make it look crazy easy, and you can get yarn at Michaels for chump change. Note: NEVER EVER buy anything full price at Michaels boo, the always have coupons online. mind blown
This one is pretty selfish if you are giving it to a person who doesn’t necessarily have the same music tastes as you, but everyone needs a ‘Beyonce through the years’ burnt CD, right? Right. Glad we got that one sorted out. Also, songs are only $0.99 (if you are being good citizen, cheaper-free even– if you are not).
Melly Sews has some great instructions on how to make a zipper pouch in this tutorial. The great thing about this DIY is that you can customize the size for what you need (or the amount of fabric you can afford). Quilting and Fabric stores have fat quarters for around $4 each which could make some adorable pouches. You can even make it big enough to fit the burnt CD. DOUBLE CHRISTMAS MAGIC!
I feel that this is a very forgotten gift when it comes to the gift giving season. But, for real, you come at my face with a tin of No Bake Almond Butter Cup Bars and henny, we bbf’s forever. Obvs, I would recommend anything that Dana from the Minimalist Baker throws down, and they you can be like ‘omg it’s vegan so healthy boo’ and they will love you even more (although the ‘healthy’ attribute may be slightly exaggerated).
Now, this is one pretty rad AF gift, which you can do with a few pieces of felt, a hot glue gun, and PURE IMAGINATION. Jenny Sue Designs has a pretty cute tutorial here.
Now, I bet all of the Embroidery heads out there are going to vilify me for this statement, but: it doesn’t have to be that expensive. A few colours of embroidery floss at $0.50 each, a small hoop and cheap fabric, and THE CREATIVITY FROM YOUR MIND and you could have a gorgeous cute embroidery gift for your best boo. Sublime Stitches is the coolest embroidery you could ever imagine, I highly recommend checking out Jenny’s website for tips and patterns!
Alright fam, I am sufficiently jealous of anyone who you make these gifts for. Like could you imagine getting any of these from your bestie or your boo? Total dream gifts right here haiiiii! If you dont trust me (#rude), I promise you can do these things! You are a true god or goddess and can do anything you want!
